As a fourth generation resident of Garfield County, I am passionate about education and bringing common sense back to the Garfield RE-2 School Board
My own children have gone through the RE2 school district, and I have a granddaughter starting this fall. I know what a critical aspect education is to the success of our community. As a community member, parent, and small business owner, I have a vested interest in the success of each and every student.
I am in favor of a school district that promotes individual, critical thinking. Students should learn how to analyze issues and come to their own conclusions, not just recall facts and figures. Our education system, and the people who oversee it, should not be driven by a political agenda when setting policy. Parents, teachers, staff and community members are to be respected and engaged with authentically, in service to the greater good of our community.
